De Bruyne inspires Man City 4-2 comeback at Crystal Palace

Kevin De Bruyne celebrated his milestone of scoring 100 goals for Manchester City with a stellar performance, netting twice in a 4-2 victory against Crystal Palace. This win propelled the reigning champions to level points with Premier League leaders Liverpool.

Despite falling behind early in the match at Selhurst Park, De Bruyne showcased his brilliance by scoring a magnificent goal to equalize. Rico Lewis then put City in the lead in the second half, followed by De Bruyne setting up Erling Haaland to break his goal drought.

The Belgian maestro completed his memorable night by scoring his 100th goal for City. Pep Guardiola’s strategic decision to rest De Bruyne and Haaland in the previous match against Aston Villa paid off, as City remains on track to defend the treble they secured last season.

With a crucial Champions League quarter-final clash against Real Madrid looming, Guardiola rotated his squad, giving opportunities to other players like Phil Foden, Manuel Akanji, Bernardo Silva, and Jeremy Doku. Despite the changes, City’s strength was evident as they maintained their competitive edge.

Although an early error from John Stones allowed Palace to take the lead, City quickly responded, with De Bruyne orchestrating their attacking moves. The match saw moments of brilliance from both sides, with City eventually prevailing through Lewis’ goal and De Bruyne’s assist to Haaland.

De Bruyne’s remarkable performance was capped off with a spectacular left-footed strike, marking his 100th goal for City since joining in 2015. City’s victory positioned them favorably in the league standings, edging ahead of Arsenal in the race for the top spot.
