Tinubu’s reforms yielding positive results – Alake

The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, emphasized on Thursday that President Bola Tinubu’s reforms are already yielding positive results in the nation’s economy.

During a meeting with a delegation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) Professionals Forum, led by former Bauchi State Governor Isa Yuguda, Alake praised Tinubu’s decisive leadership and willingness to make tough decisions, which are now beginning to show tangible improvements in the economy.

Alake expressed confidence that Tinubu’s administration will establish lasting structures and standards of service delivery that will raise the expectations of Nigerians for future administrations.

He noted that the initial challenges of the reforms are gradually diminishing, pointing to the strengthening of the Naira and the increasing stability in the forex market as evidence of progress.

Furthermore, the Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to infrastructural development, specifically mentioning the Lagos-Calabar coastal road project. Once completed, this road will significantly reduce travel time to the Cross River state capital to just two and a half hours, paving the way for increased tourism and economic opportunities along the coastline.

The Minister also called on the APC Professionals Forum to leverage their expertise and contribute to the success of the administration. He emphasized the government’s receptiveness to innovative ideas in its efforts to deliver tangible benefits to Nigerians through the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Yuguda, in his remarks, commended the Minister for his efforts in revitalizing the mining sector and stressed the importance of solid minerals in Nigeria’s economic development. He urged full support from both the public and the government to enable Alake to transform the mining industry, highlighting its potential to surpass oil as the country’s primary economic pillar.

Discussing the APC professionals forum, Yuguda described the group as a dedicated assembly of patriotic experts from various fields, united in their commitment to nation-building.

The delegation accompanying Yuguda included former Governor of Adamawa State and Board of Trustees (BOT) member Barr. James Ngilare, former Deputy Governor of Anambra State and Vice-Chairman BOT Dr. Nkem Okeke, as well as Secretary Akeem Akintayo, among others.
