NNPC Limited made a significant announcement on Sunday, revealing that its upstream subsidiary, NNPC Exploration and Production Limited (NNPC E&P Ltd), in collaboration with Natural Oilfield Services Ltd (NOSL), a subsidiary of Sterling Oil Exploration & Energy Production Company Ltd (SEEPCO), has successfully initiated oil production at Oil Mining Lease (OML) 13 in Akwa Ibom State.
In a detailed statement released by Mr. Olufemi Soneye, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd, it was disclosed that the production activities commenced on the 6th of May 2024, starting with an output of 6,000 barrels of oil. The operation is anticipated to scale up significantly to reach a daily production rate of 40,000 barrels by May 27th, 2024.
