Eid-ul-Adha: FG declares next Monday, Tuesday public holidays

The Federal Government has officially announced the designation of Monday, the 17th, and Tuesday, the 18th of June 2024 as public holidays in observance of the Eid-ul-Adha festivities for this year.

Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, the Permanent Secretary at the ministry, unveiled this information via a press release on Friday in Abuja. The proclamation on behalf of the Federal Government was made by Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior.

In her statement, she extended warm regards to the Muslim community both domestically and abroad during this significant occasion. Tunji-Ojo urged members of the Ummah to continue embodying the values of peace, compassion, and sacrifice, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him). She also encouraged them to seize this period as an opportunity to pray for the unity, prosperity, and stability of our nation.

The Minister reiterated the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR’s administration to ensuring the safety and security of all Nigerian citizens. Additionally, while extending well wishes for a joyous Eid-ul-Adha celebration to the Muslim community, she advised all Nigerians to shoulder the responsibility of bequeathing a thriving Nigeria to future generations.
