US rapper Travis Scott was taken into custody in Miami Beach during the early hours of Thursday for charges related to trespassing and disorderly intoxication, as indicated by official records.
The renowned music artist, known by his birth name Jacques Bermon Webster, was apprehended shortly after 1:00 am following a verbal dispute with individuals aboard a yacht at the Miami Beach Marina, according to the arrest report.
Following reports of a confrontation on the yacht, law enforcement instructed the 33-year-old to depart, which he complied with. However, he subsequently reappeared, leading to what was described as “disturbing the peace of the occupants of the marina” and “causing a public disturbance.”
Upon being detained, the singer informed the authorities that he had consumed alcohol, citing the environment of “it’s Miami,” as detailed in the police report.
In addition to his music career, Scott’s album “Utopia” received a Grammy Awards nomination for best rap album this year. Furthermore, he has engaged in various ventures such as merchandise partnerships with Nike, collaboration with the video game company Epic Games, and a promotional collaboration with the fast-food giant McDonald’s.
