The FIFA Council stands as the core governing body of the organization during the periods between the FIFA Congresses.

Comprised of 37 members chosen by the FIFA Congress for a renewable term spanning four years, the Council plays a pivotal role in the decision-making processes.

In March 2021, Mr. Amaju Pinnick, the illustrious two-term President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), clinched a place in the Council, following in the esteemed footsteps of the late Oyo Orok Oyo and Dr. Amos Adamu.

As Mr. Pinnick vies for re-election into the Council, President Tinubu extends his resolute support for Nigeria’s endeavor to uphold its position within the Council.
